Why we refused to sell you an audit
If we cannot read your site well enough, the report would flag problems that are not there. So the check stops the sale before you pay.
The check looks for a sitemap that lists your stories with dates, at least 30 stories in the last 7 days, story text in the page itself, a language we read, and a byline, dates and article markup on at least 80% of the stories it samples.
If your site falls short, you see what was missing and what we found. Nothing is charged.
If the check could not run at all — no recent stories found, or the fetch failed — that is not a verdict on your site. Try again in a minute.
Checks are limited per account per hour, so a burst of retries is paused for a while.
